Kate McKeon Recruiter Kate joined Marina Sirras & Associates in 2011. Before joining MS&A, Kate was a legal recruiter with Juris Placement International in New York, specializing in associate placements at all levels within the national and international markets. Prior to becoming a legal recruiter, Kate’s extensive background as a legal assistant/paralegal includes the areas of corporate, probate, real estate, and patent prosecution. Her most recent law firm position was with Pennie & Edmonds LLP in New York. Kate received her BS degree in Human Resource Management from Palm Beach Atlantic College. Trigueiro Senior Recruiter Carla Trigueiro is a senior recruiter at Marina Sirras & Associates LLC and she specializes in Latin America. Her experience in placing partners and associates in major international firms is solid. She has also placed attorneys in multinational banks and companies, both in the U.S. and in Latin America. She has been a legal consultant since the year of 2000. In March of 2001 Carla joined MS&A LLC. Carla used to be a lawyer in Brazil where she did commercial litigation. Marina Sirras Principal Marina Sirras is the Principal of Marina Sirras & Associates LLC, (MS&A) a legal search firm based in New York City that specializes in recruiting for law firms and corporations in the United States and internationally. She has more that 21 years of experience in recruiting attorneys. Marina is an active member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC) and has been a member of the NALSC Board of Directors since 1997. Marina is the former Co-President and current President of NALSC. Marina’s firm consists of eight full-time recruiters and two part-time recruiters. Two MS&A recruiters are dedicated to recruiting for Administrative positions in law firms and corporations. As a first career, Marina was a marketing analyst for The A.C. Nielsen Company’s Food and Consumer Products Division and Warwick & Legler, a New York mid-size advertising agency (now defunct). Later, as a "stay-at-home mom", Marina owned and operated several small businesses and was a great volunteer. In 1986, Marina began her career in legal search at one of the largest New York search firms and in 1987, in partnership with Kai Cramer, formed Cramer & Sirras, Inc. Marina took over full control of the company in 1991 and changed the name to Marina Sirras & Associates. Marina is often called upon to comment on trends in the legal recruitment industry and has been quoted numerous times in legal publications and featured in an article in the ABA Journal (July 2005) Marina has spoken at many conferences including: • NALP Annual Education Conferences: “Ethics and Legal Recruiting” (2005) and “Managing the Legal Search Consultant Relationship” (2006). • At the Association of the Bar of the City of New York – panelist at seminars on “Lawyers in Transition” (2006) and “Transitions: Exploring Non-Legal Roles within Law Firms” (2008) focusing on lawyers seeking administrative positions in law firms. • At the Chief Marketing Officers Forum in NYC, Marina participated on a panel discussion “Attracting Lateral Partners & Groups” on the importance of a good Marketing Department in recruiting lateral partners. Prior to her current position, Jennifer was an Intellectual Property and International Trade paralegal in New York for four years. While at Marina Sirras & Associates LLC, Jennifer has conducted numerous in-house and law firm searches in the United States, Europe and Asia. Jennifer graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in International Relations. She currently resides in Massachusetts. Laura Gordon Recruiter Laura Gordon joined Marina Sirras & Associates in 2007 and focuses on placing experienced transactional and tax associates in New York and in California with AmLaw 100 firms and fortune 500 companies. Laura spent many years in management consultant most recently as a Senior Manager in the Reorganization Services Group of Deloitte & Touche LLP in New York. Prior to her consulting experience, Laura was in the Los Angeles and San Diego offices of Latham & Watkins LLP where she focused on debtor and creditor committee representation, commercial, public and private financings and recapitalizations as well as municipal financings. Laura received her MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California and a BA in Sociology and Economics from the University of California, San Diego. Jennifer Coffey Recruiter Jennifer Coffey joined Marina Sirras & Associates in 2009. Before joining MS&A, Jennifer managed the Legal Personnel Departments at both Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and had managed the lateral recruiting efforts at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP (where she had started as a Litigation Paralegal and eventually transitioned to law firm administration and recruiting). Jennifer received her BA in Art History from Smith College, as well as a Certificate of Pre-Medical Sciences from Columbia University, along with some graduate studies in chemistry (before she realized she was not well suited to be a lab rat). At MS&A, Jennifer enjoys working with junior, mid-level and senior associates in their endeavors to find the next best step in their career. The obvious flip-side of this is that she also enjoys working with law firms and assisting them to grow in the direction in which they choose.
